Terms of Engagement.

1. These additional Terms of Engagement apply when we provide Australian Solicitor (Lawyer) services. See our main conditions as well.
2. We will keep your information confidential to the extent required by law and by section 9 of the Queensland Law Society Solicitor Conduct Rules.
3. Our duty of care is to you and not to any other person. Before any other person may rely on our advice, we must expressly agree to this.
4. We have procedures in place to identify and respond to conflicts of interest. If a conflict of interest arises we will advise you of this and follow the requirements and procedures set out by sections 10, 11 and 12 of the Queensland Law Society Solicitor Conduct Rules. To the extent that our Standard Terms of Engagement are inconsistent with these conflict rules, the Queensland Law Society’s Rules will prevail.
5. We may terminate our retainer in any of the circumstances set out by the Queensland Law Society.
6. Disputes will be governed by Queensland law and are subject to the jurisdiction of the Queensland courts, unless it is a Federal matter in which case Australian Federal law applies and the Australian Federal Court Or Australian Federal Circuit Court will have jurisdiction.
