How can I use/sell at best an idea that would increase the traffic to another’s company?

I have a really good idea that could triple the revenue of a specific company. How do I reach with minimum effort (so I can have other ideas) a situation where: The company uses/considers this idea; I get some recognition/compensation/consultancy position. How far can an email to the CEO go?

If the idea is patentable, patent it before going to the company with it.

If the idea is not patentable and it is complex and will not be achievable without some hidden system then show the result to the company but not the system and offer to sell them the system.

Remember that ideas (unless protected by way of a patent or trade secret as above) are not property that you can monopolise. If you disclose your idea, then it is no longer yours.
