I have an app that is quickly growing popular and useful. How do I patent it?

It is becoming increasingly difficult to get patent protection for apps – not impossible, depending on the nature of the technology, but difficult.

I recommend that you speak to a patent attorney skilled in the area of software-based inventions. The costs of gaining patent protection in cases where the invention is patentable tend to be higher too as there is more scrutiny placed on software and business-method patents for patent eligibility.
